Barbados offers several all-inclusive resorts that provide a worry-free vacation where almost everything is included. Whether you’re a couple seeking romance, a family looking for fun, or a small group looking for the perfect destination, there’s probably an oasis for you in Barbados.

What's the Best Time to Visit Barbados?

The best time to visit Barbados is typically from mid-December to mid-April. This period offers great weather and numerous festivals and events. With average temperatures around 78 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s ideal for beach time and other outdoor activities.

As part of the British Commonwealth, Barbados is very popular with British tourists through the winter season. You may need to be flexible or make reservations well in advance.

However, for a quieter experience, travel during the off-peak months. The weather stays pleasant and you’ll encounter fewer crowds and maybe even lower rates. Our favorite time to visit Barbados is during the off-peak season between May and November, offering a more serene and budget-friendly vacation. Regardless of when you visit, Barbados guarantees a warm welcome and an unforgettable vacation.

Castries, Saint Lucia

Sandals Halcyon Beach is a quintessential Caribbean resort. The lush landscape enhances the privacy of each villa and suite and offers secluded hideaways throughout the resort.

For food lovers, the resort offers six specialty restaurants and seven bars throughout the property. Our favorite is Kelly’s Dockside, a restaurant set on a dock over the water. If you’re looking for something special, the lobster at Kelly’s is a must-try (just be sure to request it a day in advance). In addition to lobster, the lamb also receives high praise from guests. The overwater dining experience combined with the stunning waterfront view creates a one-of-a-kind night out.

Sandals Saint Vincent: A Luxurious Getaway in an Unspoiled Caribbean Paradise

Sandals Saint Vincent

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sandals Saint Vincent in May 2024 for a corporate event, and I can confidently say this is one of the most impressive all-inclusive resorts I’ve ever visited. Having just opened in the late winter of 2024, at present it’s the largest and newest all-inclusive resort in Saint Vincent, set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Saint Vincent lies in the Lesser Antilles and is easily accessible via Argyle International Airport. Nestled on 50 acres of lush, mature tropical landscaping, the resort combines luxury, modern design, and untouched natural beauty to create a truly remarkable experience.

Overview of Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Sandals Saint Vincent is a luxurious, all-inclusive resort located on the picturesque island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This adults-only haven is nestled on a large private cove, bordered by a lush forest and a gently flowing river, offering breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The resort’s pleasing design and beautiful beaches create an idyllic setting for a romantic getaway. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, strolling through the tropical gardens, or enjoying a sunset dinner by the sea, Sandals Saint Vincent promises an unforgettable experience for couples and honeymooners seeking a serene escape in paradise.

Expansive and Tranquil Setting

Sandals St. VincentWhen we visited the resort it was completely sold out. However, it never felt crowded. There was only one restaurant visit where we had to wait for a table. The resort is masterfully laid out, and the mature, exotic gardens create a sense of privacy and tranquility wherever you go. The mountain views that surround the resort add to the feeling of being in a hidden paradise, while the beautifully landscaped pathways and tropical greenery provide a constant connection to nature. Unlike other Caribbean islands, this resort offers a more tranquil and less crowded experience, making it a perfect alternative for those seeking a serene escape. With 301 rooms and suites spread across the property, the resort feels expansive and exclusive, offering plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Private Pool Accommodations

At the time of our visit there were 15 different room categories. The suites were as large as 1,728 sq. ft., and cozy rooms starting at 580 sq. ft. Butler Elite Service Suites, Club Suites (which include room service) are also available.

Our stay in the Beachfront Butler Villa Suite with Private Pool (BVGP) was exceptional. The villa was not only luxurious but also spacious enough for us to invite our friends over for a drink and dip in our private pool. The beachfront pool offered spectacular ocean views; relaxing by the pool with such a stunning backdrop was a highlight of our trip.

The other couples we traveled with also had great rooms. One stayed in the Lady Palm Club Swim-up Suite with Media Room and Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub (1SUP), which featured a swim-up pool and private media room to relax after a busy day. The other couple enjoyed the tranquility of the One-Bedroom Garden Butler Suite with Media Room and Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub (VH) surrounded by tropical gardens. Each suite was very comfortable, luxurious and spacious enough to share.

The Service

If you have a Butler Service Suite like we did, you will be met in the lobby by one of your butlers. Typically, you will have 2-4 butlers over the course of your stay. They will introduce you to your room and explain what they can do for you, how to get in touch with them, and will make reservations for dinners or the spa if you’d like. Even though reservations are not required at most restaurants, it feels good to have a great table waiting for you when you arrive. Sandals Resorts are renowned for their commitment to enhancing the travel experience and have a stellar reputation in the Caribbean.

Get to know your butlers by name, they are trustworthy, genuinely friendly and a great source of information to help you make the most of your vacation.

Moodern Design and Stylish Layout

What sets Sandals St. Vincent apart is its blend of modern design and elegant styling throughout. It feels clean and fresh. The sleek, stylish layout of the resort creates a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.

We were lucky enough to see the Overwater Villas (OWV), which were still under construction during our visit. These stunning, two-story villas offer a unique and exclusive experience not to be missed. Sandals has created a gem in Saint Vincent—combining luxury, natural beauty, and innovative design.

An Unspoiled Paradise of Natural Beauty

Sunset at Sandals St Vincent and the GrenadinesOne of the most memorable experiences of our stay was the Catamaran snorkeling excursion to Bequia Island in the Grenadines. Saint Vincent is the gateway to the Grenadines, a collection of 32 islands and over 1,000 islets. The region is an unspoiled paradise, and the waters around Bequia were crystal-clear, perfect for snorkeling. The colorful coral reefs and abundant marine life made the trip unforgettable. St. Vincent and the Grenadines stands out among Caribbean islands for its scenic beauty, less touristy nature, and accessible adventures, offering a unique experience for visitors. Some of the excursions available include:
  • Whale & Dolphin Watching
  • Private Golf in Canouan (Named one of the Top
  • 10 Golf Courses in the World)
  • Tobago Cays Snorkeling Trip including Union
  • Island and Mayreau
  • La Soufriere Sunset Cruise
  • Scuba Diving
  • Deep Sea Fishing
  • Island Hopping
  • Custom and private experiences… Just ask us!
Not to mention ATV tours, hiking to waterfalls, and even shopping! My wife said she wanted to go shopping in town, which can be accomplished quite easily. Given that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are the “Critter Capital of the World”, diving here is some of the best in all the Caribbean. Snorkeling and diving (for certified divers) is included with your stay and Sandals has an affordable PADI certification program that has graduated over 140,000 divers. Closer to shore…we also enjoyed a bit of excitement when we took out a Hobie Cat for some sailing at the resort. While we were having a great time, the wind unexpectedly stalled, and we found ourselves drifting toward the rocks. Thankfully, the resort’s Water Sports staff was quick to respond and towed us back to safety. They were professional, attentive and fun loving. And yes, we provided free entertainment for our friends on the beach who were betting if we would make it back by lunch…or dinner. It was dinner.

Island Excursions

For those who prefer to stay on land, the lush Vermont Nature Trail offers a scenic hike through the island’s verdant landscape. Guests can also explore the picturesque town of Kingstown, with its charming streets and historic Fort Charlotte, or take a boat tour to the nearby Grenadines islands. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, the island excursions in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines provide something for everyone.

Local Culture and Cuisine

Sandals St Vincent and the Grenadines DiningSaint Vincent and the Grenadines are known for their rich cultural heritage and delicious local cuisine. Guests can immerse themselves in the island’s vibrant culture by visiting local markets, where the colors and aromas of fresh produce and spices fill the air. Traditional dance performances offer a glimpse into the island’s lively traditions, while cooking classes provide an opportunity to learn how to prepare authentic Vincentian dishes. The resort’s restaurants also showcase the island’s culinary delights, with menus featuring fresh seafood, traditional jerk chicken, and mouthwatering island desserts. Each meal is a celebration of the island’s flavors, making dining at Sandals Saint Vincent a truly memorable experience.

Top-Notch Dining and Amenities

With 11 world-class eateries, Sandals Saint Vincent is a foodie’s paradise. From fine dining to casual local fare, the variety and quality of the food were top-notch. We particularly enjoyed dining at Buccan, the resort’s family-style local cuisine restaurant. The relaxed atmosphere and delicious Caribbean flavors made for a fantastic evening, and we enjoyed connecting with fellow guests over dinner. The combination of unique culinary excellence and a laid-back, friendly vibe truly enhanced the overall experience. The Parisol Beach Club is another prime dining destination at the resort, offering unique Caribbean culinary delights such as callaloo and artichoke dip. Another highlight is the Three Jewels Rum Bar, known for its unique atmosphere with vinyl records and domino tables. The bar boasts an extensive 32-rum menu, featuring predominantly eastern Caribbean rums, adding to the allure of this vibrant spot within the all-inclusive resort’s offerings.

Sustainability and Wellness

At Sandals Saint Vincent, sustainability and wellness are top priorities. The resort is committed to reducing its environmental impact through sustainable practices such as energy-efficient lighting, rainwater harvesting, and waste reduction. Guests can also enjoy a range of wellness activities designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation. From yoga and Pilates classes to indulgent spa treatments and healthy dining options, the resort offers numerous ways to nurture your well-being. The beautiful beaches and lush gardens provide a tranquil backdrop for these activities, allowing guests to connect with nature and find inner peace. Sandals Saint Vincent’s dedication to sustainability and wellness ensures that your stay is not only luxurious but also environmentally conscious.

What our Agents Have to Say

When I asked Susie, one of our travel companions, what she thought of our visit to Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, she laughed, and said, “Are you kidding me! Where do I start?”

  • First of all, to say the people of Saint Vincent are very friendly is an understatement, it’s like going on vacation with your favorite friends and neighbors, we made friends with the staff from day one.
  • Getting there from the airport takes a bit, but if you get a butler room you can sign up for a water taxi. The trip down the river only takes about 20 minutes. How cool is that?
  • The resort itself has this Hawaii feel with lush mountain peaks in the background. The resort is laid out nicely and nothing is too far of a walk. And there are bicycles to use at will throughout the resort…it just feels good.
  • Most of the pools that I saw faced the ocean. The main infinity pool is long and gorgeous. The private pools in the villas walk right out to the beach.
  • I’ve already booked clients into the Overwater Villas. They are two-story, modern-styled, and have their own tranquility soaking tubs for two that face the ocean.
  • Other innovations include media rooms, swim-ups and fitness guest rooms that are all very spacious.
  • There is also a beautiful over-the-water wedding chapel. I can’t wait to book my first wedding there.
  • The food is amazing. Dinner at Buccan is not to be missed – it is a smallish outdoor family style restaurant with 3 stone cooking, local Vincy ingredients from the sea and farms, all roasted and grilled from an open kitchen. There were several courses. Make sure you sip as the locals do with different rums and mixes.
  • If you go to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, you have to get out and see the sights. We took a day trip into the Grenadine Islands and I’m looking forward to going back. There are excursions to the active Volcano, lots of diving and snorkeling trips, rainforest hikes, sunset sailing and whale watching.

We all loved this trip – and you will too! Contact me and I’ll help you make this a trip you won’t forget.

Pros and Cons of Booking an All-Inclusive Resort

There are a lot of advantages to staying at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean. There are so many different resorts, of various sizes and styles, to choose from that it makes it hard to come up with many negatives. However, when deciding if an all-inclusive trip is right for you, here are a few things to consider.

Pros:

  • Convenience: Everything you need is at your fingertips, from dining to entertainment, eliminating the need for further arrangements.

  • Variety of Offerings: Resorts cater to diverse tastes. Looking for couples-only, family friendly, wedding venues, or group amenities? There is probably a resort for you! Our Travel Advisors can help you find the right one.

  • Stress-Free Planning: Dive into your vacation experience without the hassle of daily planning or advanced reservations.

  • Simplicity in Pricing: With one set price, you can enjoy MOST of what the resort has to offer (see what’s not included in the FAQ below).

  • Comprehensive Experience: With various amenities on-site, it’s easy to get a well-rounded vacation without needing to venture far off the beaten path.

Cons:

  • Larger Scale: The size of some resorts can be overwhelming and might not be exactly what some travelers desire. However, a small all-suite all-inclusive might be what you’re looking for!

  • Additional Charges: Spa services, golf, tips, top-shelf liquors, or specific excursions might come with additional fees not covered in all-inclusive rates. Check the resort’s website or with your Travel Advisor to understand what all is included in the price.

  • Group Dynamics: Some resorts cater to groups, which might be less appealing to travelers seeking a quieter environment. Look for an adults-only or even couples-only resort (such as Sandals) if it’s solitude you seek.

  • Personalized Service: Due to the high number of guests, some travelers might feel the service lacks a personal touch compared to smaller accommodations. However, many resorts offer a high staff-to-guest ratio and even personal butler service!

Caribbean All-Inclusive FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Do all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean include food and alcohol?
All-inclusive resorts typically include all meals, snacks, and beverages, including a variety of alcoholic drinks. Many resorts even include complimentary in-room mini bars. Some resorts may offer premium dining and beverage options that require an additional charge, so it’s always good to confirm the details with the resort beforehand. Expert Tip from our Travel Advisors: If your resort’s restaurants take or require reservations, you’ll want to make them as soon as you arrive since they can fill up fast.
  • Is it worth paying for an all-inclusive resort?
We think so! Paying for an all-inclusive resort can offer excellent value, particularly if you plan to take full advantage of the activities, amenities, food, and beverages available. It allows for a worry-free vacation where almost everything is taken care of ahead of time. Many resorts, such as Sandals, even include most tips and gratuities in their all-inclusive package pricing.
  • What should I expect from an adults-only all-inclusive resort?
Adults-only all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean offer a serene and mature environment, ideal for couples or a small group of friends. Expect a sophisticated atmosphere with upscale amenities, gourmet dining, and premium drinks. Many adults-only resorts focus on creating a romantic or tranquil ambiance, offering amenities like spa treatments, candlelit dinners on the beach, and rooms with a private pool or a hot tub. Some resorts are even “couples only,” which makes them great for honeymoons and romantic getaways.
  • Do I need to tip at an all-inclusive resort?
While tipping is included at many Caribbean all-inclusive resorts, it is generally appreciated when guests leave additional tips for outstanding service. It’s a personal choice, but small gratuities can go a long way in expressing appreciation to the staff, who often go above and beyond to ensure guests have an exceptional stay. Some resorts, such as Sandals, include tips in their package price, meaning guests don’t need to tip for most services. However, there are still times when tipping is appropriate and recommended, such as for airport transportation providers, butlers, golf caddies, and spa attendants.
  • What’s not included in an all-inclusive package?
In a typical all-inclusive package, there are a few notable services and amenities that are not included, requiring additional fees for guests who opt for them. Spa treatments are not part of the room rate, so guests seeking spa services will need to pay for them separately. Many off-resort tours, even those provided by the resort, may not be covered in the all-inclusive rates. For golf enthusiasts, while greens fees may be included, caddies are usually not, representing an extra charge. Medical assistance, possibly for unexpected illness or injury during the stay, is also not included and may incur additional costs.

A Note from our Agent

“After selling Overwater Bungalows for years, I finally booked and stayed in one for myself! And I’ll point out that I was not sponsored in any way. It was a major bucket list item for me and was my retie-the-knot honeymoon. I chose the Over-the-Water Private Island Butler Villa with the Infinity Pool. It was 7 nights of pure bliss and wonder. We felt so special and pampered, from the BMW airport transfer to the fun and professional Butlers, the amazing food, to the larger-than-our house Villa, we will never forget it. Everyone needs to experience this at least once in their lifetime.

Some of the things I want to share with everyone include that…

I loved the glow from the glass floor panels. We saw many different fish up close, right from our room including puffer fish, lobster, lots of different rays. You don’t even have to get in the water to enjoy the ocean—this was too cool.

The Private Island (including the clothing optional beach) is all yours until 10:00 AM each day when the resort guests are allowed to visit the beach.

The butlers were a kick! Wonderful people that always made us feel special and welcomed time and time again with their thoughtful surprises. They even brought out the chef, given that we decided to spend nearly the entire week at our villa (hey, we bought it, we’re using it!).

Take advantage of the exclusive in-room dining experience. We had fresh, amazing food (including 3 lobsters at one dinner) from almost every restaurant at the resort.

This is an investment to remember, so prepare appropriately. From the butler requests, dining, excursions, to knowing which island, which type of bungalow or villa is right for you, and which unit to request, you want to get it right.

Talk to me—I’m happy to help and now I can say…I’ve been there!”

Tips for Booking an All-Inclusive Resort in the Caribbean

Look for Hidden Fees: “All-inclusive” usually means that everything is included, but sometimes there are exceptions. Check for potential fees for top-shelf liquors, special dining experiences, spa services, or motorized water sports. Always read the fine print and don’t hesitate to ask your Travel Advisor or contact the resort directly if you’re unclear about any fees.

Review Resort Activities and Amenities: Different resorts cater to different audiences. Some are family-focused with kid-friendly activities, while others are adults-only and emphasize romance and privacy. Before booking, review what the resort offers to ensure it aligns with what you’re seeking. Also, ask your Travel Advisor if there are any additional experiences that might pique your interest.

Understand Cancellation Policies: While all-inclusive resorts offer convenience, they might have stricter cancellation policies compared to other accommodation types. Before booking, ensure you’re clear on the terms. Some resorts offer a full refund if you cancel well in advance, while others have non-refundable deposits or stricter guidelines. We typically recommend travel insurance to our clients to help safeguard against unforeseen circumstances.

In the vast and diverse world of travel options, all-inclusive Caribbean resorts stand out for their convenience, luxury, and variety. Coupled with the stunning beauty of the Caribbean Sea, they offer travelers a vacation experience that’s both stress-free and exciting. Jamaica's All Inclusive Vacation Destinations

Jamaica is dotted with numerous tourist hotspots, each offering a unique flavor of the island’s vibrant culture and breathtaking beauty. To begin, let’s look at the main areas frequented by tourists in Jamaica, which is also where the majority of Jamaica’s all inclusive resorts reside:

Montego Bay

Montego Bay, fondly referred to as "MoBay" by locals, is the gem of Jamaica's northern coast. It's a harmonious blend of vibrant city life and serene natural beauty, marked by its pristine white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and rich cultural heritage. The city's lively reggae beats, historic colonial architecture, and the warmth of its people make Montego Bay an unforgettable Caribbean destination. Montego Bay is home to several luxury all inclusive resorts and hotels. The Sangster International Airport is also located here, making it a convenient entry point for international tourists.

Woman on the beach in Jamaica

Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios, often called "Ochi" by locals, is a jewel on Jamaica's north coast. What makes it special is its harmonious blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural richness. Ocho Rios is home to the famous Dunn's River Falls, a cascading waterfall that visitors can climb, providing both a scenic view and a thrilling experience. The region also boasts the lush and expansive Fern Gully, a haven for plant lovers. Alongside its natural attractions, Ocho Rios offers a bustling town center with vibrant markets, local crafts, and a taste of authentic Jamaican cuisine. Its port regularly welcomes cruise ships, making it a popular spot for day-trippers. Ocho Rios boasts several high-end all inclusive resorts, including the newly opened Sandals Dunn's River.

Runaway Bay

Situated between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay is less crowded but equally as beautiful as its more popular neighbors. Runaway Bay offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure in a less-populous setting. Its proximity to some of Jamaica’s prime attractions, like the Green Grotto Caves and the Bob Marley Mausoleum, add a little something extra for those wanting to explore local Jamaican culture. Many travelers feel that beach resorts in Runaway Bay offer access to a more authentic side of Jamaica. There are several all inclusive resorts in Runaway Bay for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Additionally, inclusive vacation packages provide a hassle-free experience with lots of options to help make your stay remarkable and affordable.

South Coast

The South Coast is emerging as a destination for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience. This region of Jamaica is graced with rugged coastal landscapes, tranquil beaches, and lush countryside, providing a perfect backdrop for both adventure and relaxation. Its location away from the main tourist hubs ensures a quiet, intimate Jamaican experience. According to our travel advisors, Sandals South Coast stands out as one of the top romantic resorts in all of Jamaica for honeymoons and intimate getaways. Nestled within a 500-acre nature preserve, this all inclusive resort is the epitome of tropical elegance. It boasts overwater bungalows, world-class dining experiences, and a vast range of activities, from water sports to spa treatments.

Negril

Negril stands out as one of Jamaica's most enchanting destinations, celebrated for its laid-back vibe and amazing beaches. The town is famed for its Seven Mile Beach, a seemingly endless stretch of powdery white sand and crystal-blue waters. Beyond the beach, Negril's cliffs offer breathtaking sunsets and opportunities for cliff diving, while its eclectic mix of local eateries and vibrant nightlife ensures visitors experience the heart and soul of Jamaican culture. It's a great spot for those seeking a more relaxed vibe, and it's home to a mix of all inclusive resorts, smaller boutique hotels, and local restaurants.

  • What are the entry requirements for U.S. and Canadian tourists?
  • U.S. Citizens: A valid passport is mandatory when leaving and re-entering the United States. U.S. tourists must also have a return or onward ticket for entry into Jamaica.

Canadian Citizens: Canadians are also required to present a valid passport indicating their country of citizenship.

It is crucial for both U.S. and Canadian tourists to stay informed about any travel advisories by regularly checking the Jamaica's Tourism Board's official website: https://www.visitjamaica.com/plan-your-adventure/travel-tips/entry-requirements/

  • What currency is advisable for U.S. and Canadian tourists to use in Jamaica? And what about at the resorts?
  • Resorts widely accept U.S. and Canadian Dollars. If you take a guided tour off the resort, you may want to have some Jamaican Dollars (JMD) on hand as well. Jamaica has a multitude of banks in all resort areas, making currency exchange relatively straightforward for U.S. and Canadian tourists. The daily fluctuation in exchange rates makes it wise to shop around for the best rates before converting your cash. Most ATMs in Jamaica accept international bank cards with Visa, MasterCard, Cirrus, and Plus logos.

  • What's the best time of year to visit Jamaica?
  • Our favorite time to visit Jamaica is from November to mid-December when the weather is ideal and the room rates are most reasonable. The peak tourist season is from mid-December to April; while the island is bustling with activities and events, the prices for accommodations are usually higher during this period.

  • What is the weather like in Jamaica?
  • Jamaica boasts a tropical climate, with high temperatures and humid conditions prevalent year-round. For those visiting from colder climates like Canada or the Northern U.S., this climate provides a warm, welcome escape. However, the island experiences two rainy seasons from May to June and September to November. But even if it does rain, these are usually short, tropical showers providing a refreshing break from the warmth of the afternoon sun. Remember to check the weather conditions during your planned travel dates and pack accordingly.

These resorts often feature multiple restaurants, each specializing in different cuisines, ensuring that there is something to satisfy every palate.

  • Is Jamaica safe for tourists?
  • Jamaica is generally safe for tourists, especially within resort areas. Exercise usual cautions like avoiding isolated areas and not displaying valuables openly. Most resorts have robust security measures in place to ensure guests' safety. If you do venture away from the resort area, consider doing it as part of a guided tour arranged by the resort.

  • Can I drink the tap water in Jamaica?
  • Tap water in Jamaica is generally safe to drink due to stringent testing protocols imposed by the government, but if you have a sensitive stomach, it's advisable to stick to bottled or purified water, widely available at resorts and stores.

  • What is the official language in Jamaica?
  • The official language of Jamaica is English, locally spoken with a distinctive Jamaican accent and cadence. English is used in government, commerce, education, and is universally spoken and understood across the island, especially at all the major tourist destinations and resorts. However, while English is widely spoken, tourists will also have the delightful opportunity to hear and experience Jamaican Patois (or Creole), a colorful and expressive linguistic variant of English interspersed with words and phrases from various languages, reflecting the island's diverse heritage. Patois is predominantly spoken in informal settings and is a significant aspect of Jamaican cultural identity. It embodies the vibrant and dynamic spirit of the Jamaican people.

  • Is it worth paying for an all inclusive resort?
  • Absolutely! Paying for an all inclusive resort can offer excellent value, particularly if you plan to take full advantage of the amenities, food, and beverages available. It allows for a worry-free vacation where almost everything is taken care of, enabling you to relax and enjoy without concerning yourself with individual expenses. Many resorts, such as Sandals, even include most tips and gratuities in their all inclusive package pricing.

  • What should I expect from an adults-only all inclusive vacation in Jamaica?
  • Adults-only all inclusive resorts in Jamaica offer a serene and mature environment, ideal for couples or small groups of friends. Expect a sophisticated atmosphere with upscale amenities, gourmet dining, and premium beverages. Many adults-only resorts focus on creating a romantic or tranquil ambiance, offering amenities like spa treatments, candlelit dinners on the beach, and rooms with private pools or Jacuzzis.

  • Do I need to tip at an all inclusive resort?
  • While tipping is included in many Jamaica all inclusive resorts, it is generally appreciated when guests leave additional tips for outstanding service. It's a personal choice, but small gratuities can go a long way in expressing appreciation to the staff, who often go above and beyond to ensure guests have an exceptional stay.

For example, Sandals Resorts includes tips in their package prices, meaning guests don't need to tip for most services. However, there are exceptions where tipping is appropriate and recommended, such as for airport transportation providers, butlers, golf caddies, and spa attendants. Spa attendants typically receive around 20%, considering a 12.5% gratuity is already included in the bill. Butlers can be tipped as seen fit, usually at the end of the stay, with amounts ranging from $20-30 per day per butler, and overwater bungalow butlers receiving $50-100 per shift. Cabana butlers, who provide personalized care, usually receive between $20-50. Many guests choose to convey their gratitude in thank-you cards, enclosing the tip before leaving.

  • What's not included in an all inclusive resort vacation?
  • In an a typical all inclusive vacation package, there are a few notable services and amenities that are not included, requiring additional fees for guests who opt for them.

Spa treatments are not part of the all inclusive offerings, so guests seeking these wellness services will need to pay separately for them. Many off-resort tours, even those provided by the resort, may not be covered in the all inclusive price. For golf enthusiasts, while greens fees might be included, golf caddies (mandatory) are not included, representing an extra charge. Medical assistance, possibly for unexpected illness or injury during the stay, is also not included and may incur additional costs.
