Read About Our Stay Before You Book: One-Bedroom Butler Villa Suite with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub (VF)

Sandals Saint Vincent

Susie C. has been to every Sandals resort, and Sandals Saint Vincent is her favorite of all of them. She stayed in a villa nearly identical to this one, the One-Bedroom Butler Villa Suite with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub, room code VF. Watch her walkthrough video here, then read her full review below. If you have a question she doesn’t answer, you can ask her directly!

The VF room is a stand-alone butler villa with a separate private bedroom, its own living room, and a private patio built around an outdoor Tranquility soaking tub, all looking out on tropical gardens. Our clients really like the separate bedroom layout, one of you can be in bed and shut the door while the other stays up to read or watch TV. Every stay here includes a personal butler, 24-hour room service, and a fully stocked in-room bar where you can request full bottles of nearly any liquor on property. As a Butler guest you also get a boat transfer from the airport when the weather allows, instead of the sometimes-winding drive. These villas sit in four different spots across the resort.

There is no cost to work with us at Creative Travel Brands. You pay the same price as booking direct, and you get a dedicated advisor who has been to this resort and knows it inside and out. A $98 refundable deposit locks in your rate, and we can watch the price after you book, so if a new promotion comes up or the price drops, we can try to get it for you automatically. An Honest Look at the Sandals Saint Vincent One-Bedroom Butler Villa Suite with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub After Our Stay

Susie Christensen, All-Inclusive Expert at Creative Travel Brands

All-Inclusive Expert Susie Christensen has personally visited every Sandals and Beaches resort and has spent extensive time at Sandals Saint Vincent. We recently interviewed her to get her honest review of the One-Bedroom Butler Villa Suite with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub and most importantly, whether or not it’s worth the price tag.

Is Sandals St Vincent worth it?

Susie C: Oh, very much so. This is a beautiful resort, probably my favorite of all the Sandals resorts, and I’ve been to all of them. It kind of feels, to me, like Hawaii. It sits in a valley, the resort does, and there’s big mountain peaks all the way around. And then the beach, of course, is gorgeous. The island has an active volcano, so part of the sand is black, and then they brought in white sand on top of it, so it makes for a beautiful beach. You walk down to the beach, and you turn around and look back, and it’s absolutely stunning.

The heart fountain in the plaza, with the big green mountain peaks all around. Part of why this resort feels like Hawaii to me.

And you stayed in one of these one-bedroom butler villa suites?

Susie C: I did. I stayed in a similar villa to this one. The main difference is that this villa has a private bedroom. The one I stayed in had the bedroom and living area combined, but a lot of my clients, a lot of people prefer to have a separate bedroom. Maybe one of the couple likes to stay up late, the other one likes to get up early. Or one likes to watch TV, one likes to read. So it’s kind of nice to have a separate area for each person. If one wants to go to bed early and shut the door and the other one stay up late and watch TV, no problem with this room. They’re stand-alone villas, and they’re located in four different places throughout the resort. There’s two that are closer to the beach, one that’s closer to the restaurants in the main area, and then there’s a set of villas over by the river, and to me it feels a little more quiet and private over there. So a lot of different options to pick from, and I can help you find the perfect villa. Placing isn’t guaranteed, but I can definitely request whatever you’d prefer.

What’s the patio and Tranquility soaking tub like?

Susie C: The patio has a Tranquility soaking tub out there, a little bistro table and chairs, and either a round day bed for two people or two lounge chairs. So it’s the perfect place to sit, watch people go by, and just enjoy the day or the evening. There are curtains around the soaking tub and around part of the patio, so if you want privacy you can close the curtains. If you want to look out and enjoy the view of the garden, or talk to people as they walk by, you can open them up. So you can have both. We liked to grab a salad from Imora and a pizza from Isola, right next door to each other, and bring them back over to our villa and eat lunch out on the patio.

How far away is Sandals St Vincent from the airport?

Susie C: The ground transfer is about 45 to 60 minutes, and it’s very curvy. It’s a beautiful island, so you do get a really nice view across the island as you travel to the resort, but it is a winding road in places.

Is there a ferry from the airport to Sandals St Vincent?

Susie C: One of the perks of being a Butler guest at this resort is you can take a boat transfer. Once you arrive at the airport in St. Vincent, which is very small, you go through customs and immigration, it’s a pretty easy, seamless process, and then you find the Sandals kiosk area and they’ll get you set up. If I was a Butler guest, I would prefer to go by boat. It’s a little less time consuming, and it’s kind of like doing an excursion first thing before you even get to the resort. Your butler won’t be on the boat, but once you get to the dock, someone will meet you. It may be your butlers, or a concierge person. They’ll take you into the main lobby area, get you set up with your room, tag your bags, and introduce you to your butlers. Then your butlers actually take you to the room and show you around, as well as a little tour of the resort on the way.

What if your room’s not ready when you get there?

Susie C: Check-in is at 3 o’clock. If your room is ready when you get there, they’ll let you check in early, no problem. If it isn’t quite ready yet, usually you’ve been on a plane for a long time, you’re tired, you may be hungry, so once you’ve had your welcome drink and checked in, your butlers will take you to a restaurant, you’re free to enjoy lunch, have drinks. Or we like to put a swimsuit in our backpack, and you can change and go straight to the pool, the beach, or the hot tubs. There’s also quite a few bars on the property, nine bars, so if you just want a nice refreshing drink you can go to any of them.

You'll find these bikes all over the property. It's a cool unique thing and the fastest way from one side of the resort to the other. Also it's just fun.

Is Sandals Saint Vincent all-inclusive?

Susie C: It is, and the room is very well stocked. It comes with water, juices, soft drinks, champagne, wine, the local beer. And one of the highlights of having a butler room is you can order a bottle of any of the liquor you want, as long as it’s available on property. My husband always likes to have a bottle of rum cream in the room for his coffee in the morning. We’ll order coconut rum, and he can mix that with the juices in the room to make amazing tropical drinks. You can have anything you want, the butlers are very accommodating. They’ll give you a phone, and they’ll sit down with you when you arrive and go over the things you’d like to do and the things you want in your room. You can also fill out a form two weeks before you go, which I’ll send you, and if you have any special requests they’ll be more than happy to try to accommodate you before you even arrive.

How’s the food at Sandals Saint Vincent?

Susie C: There are actually 12 restaurants in this resort, and they’re located throughout the property, so it’s kind of nice, you see different parts of the property with whichever restaurant you pick. Some of our favorites are the steakhouse, where you can have lobster and filet, that’s Butch’s. That one requires reservations, but your butlers will have all of that handled for you, so you don’t even have to worry. Another one that requires reservations is Buccan. This is a really unique dining experience where you actually sit around a table with other people and the food is served family style. A lot of it they cook right there in fire pits, and they’ll explain how they cook it. It’s known for charred meats, veggies, island ingredients cooked low and slow over open flames. The way they say it is, food made for sharing, and stories made for passing around the table. They also have Crema, the sweet shop that has amazing ice cream, and Blum, a coffee shop where they make the specialty coffees, espresso, cold brew, slow pour, the works, and pastries too. And then we liked to go to Imora, a salad place, and Isola right next door for pizza.

What is there to do at Sandals St Vincent?

Susie C: You can do water sports and water activities, or land activities. If you want to go snorkeling, there’s a boat that goes out several times a day. You can also scuba dive if you’re PADI certified, and you have unlimited diving. If you want to try diving, get certified, for an extra cost they’ll give you a little four hour class, you learn all the ins and outs, and then they take you out on a dive. But if you’re already certified it’s included. You can go out on a glass bottom boat. There’s the Hobie Cat sailboats, and if you’re not comfortable doing it on your own a guide will take you out. There’s kayaks, paddleboards, and you can actually water ski on this resort, as well as kneeboard and wakeboard. They have a new thing called Snuba, which is kind of a combination between snorkeling and diving. You don’t go down as deep as scuba, but you’ve got oxygen, it’s connected to a tube to the boat, and you can go down quite a ways and check out the fish.

What is there to do on land at Sandals Saint Vincent?

Susie C: There’s a lot you can do, a lot of land sports. Beach volleyball, pool volleyball, bocce ball, cricket, a lot of pool tables, table tennis, shuffleboard, croquet, so you’ll never get bored. They recently added pickleball courts, and also tennis courts. You can do as much or as little as you want. Some days we just like to chill at the beach and not do anything. Other days we like to be more active, go on excursions, participate in the water sports. There’s something for everybody.

What are the pools like?

Susie C: There are four freshwater pools and two whirlpools, so plenty of opportunities. The most popular is the beachfront pool, it’s an infinity pool, that’s the place to hang out, that’s where they do the pool aerobics and all kinds of entertainment. But there’s also quieter pools. When you first walk into the lobby you’ll see a big long pool with seats on either side, it’s a little more laid back and it’s got a pool bar. And then there’s a quiet pool that’s heart-shaped, off to the side of the property, with cabanas around it. Those cabanas are first come, first serve, and it’s a very quiet area, so if you’d like to just chill and read and relax, that’s the pool to head to.

The pools look even better lit up at night. A nice quiet spot after dinner.

What’s the vibe like at Sandals Saint Vincent?

Susie C: It’s going to depend on the people that are there at the time. We were actually there for a conference, but it was very lively. The people are very friendly, very excited to serve you. I remember sitting on the beach, and a group of employees came out with a specialty drink on trays, and they were serving drinks, they were dancing, they were happy. It’s a real fun vibe. It seems lighthearted, and there’s a lot of activities.

Sunset by the beachfront infinity pool, wine in hand. Hard to beat.

Can you get off the resort and explore the Grenadines?

Susie C: There are 32 islands in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and several of those islands you can take excursions to. We took an excursion to an island called Bequia, it’s like an hour or two hour catamaran ride over, which was beautiful. We sat at the front of the boat, up on the top, we had the sea breeze in our faces, the sun, and you could watch the birds diving around us. Once we got there they let us off in a little village, and we walked around and looked at the shops, bought souvenirs, there are a few little restaurants and bars. Then we went over to a beautiful beach called Princess Margaret Beach and spent the rest of the afternoon snorkeling and hanging out. We talked to the locals who had little tables set up selling their wares, and a very nice local woman who was selling the local beer two for $5, and she told us all about the islands and the culture. On the way back we stopped by a rock formation they called the Moon Rock, where at certain times the moon comes right through that hole and shines on the ocean, and there’s a little village below it. It was a little development back in the 60s where the homes were built out of rock, and they were starting to rejuvenate them and live in them again. On St. Vincent itself you can hike over by the volcano, and this is where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed, there’s a waterfall you can hike to, that’s a very popular excursion. I can set up any of these for you before you go.

I know the overwater bungalows at Sandals Saint Vincent are a big step up from this villa. Are they worth considering?

Susie C: Absolutely. I’ve actually had clients book a room like this villa for the first part of their stay and then move over to the overwater bungalow for two to three days at the end, to get the best of both worlds. If you can’t afford it for a full week, it’s a nice option to try it for a night or two and see what you think. The Overwater Chapel out by the bungalows is gorgeous too, and very popular for weddings, so people book way in advance just to get that chapel. We put together a full review of the Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villa if you want to compare.

Is Sandals St Vincent a private beach?

Susie C: The one thing, and it wasn’t a problem or an issue with us, but some of my clients have talked about how one day a week the cruise ship comes into St. Vincent, and one of the excursions they offer is a beach day over to the side of the Sandals beach. Because all beaches in St. Vincent are public, sometimes the people from that excursion will spill over onto the Sandals side of the beach. But they’re not allowed onto the property, they don’t go to the bars, restaurants, or the pools. I always tell my clients on that day, just pick something you’d do anyways, maybe have a pool day or go on an excursion. So not necessarily a problem, but something to be aware of, you’ll share that beach one day a week, possibly. It’s usually nothing I’ve had a lot of complaints about.

How do you help someone pick the right villa?

Susie C: Just give me an idea of what you’re looking for, what you like in a room, would you rather be closer to the beach or closer to the main area, and I can help determine which villa is the right one for you. We can only request certain villas, it’s not guaranteed, but Sandals is pretty good about honoring our requests, since we book a lot of Sandals for our clients and we personally know the right people to get the requests to.

How much does it cost to stay at Sandals St Vincent?

Susie C: This villa runs about $1,500 to $1,900 per night for two, all-inclusive, for most dates at least. It’s the most affordable one-bedroom butler villa with a separate bedroom at the resort. It actually does go on the 777 Sale on some dates, which is a good discount when it happens. If you send me a date range or a few dates you want to travel and I can find the best-priced dates in that window, and if you book with us we can keep an eye on the price and try to apply any new promotions that come up.

Susie C: Like I said, a little bit of something for everyone, and I can help you figure out the best villas, the best excursions, the best restaurants. Call me anytime!
