The BVJP is a true villa, 1,723 square feet right on the beach at Sandals Saint Vincent, one of the top rooms at the resort. You get a separate bedroom, a large bathroom with a soaking tub and shower, a living and sitting area, an eating area, a media room, and even a foosball table for the odd passing rain shower, plus your own **private pool** with loungers, a table, and an outdoor soaking tub. The king bed looks straight out over the pool through large sliding glass doors, and it’s only about 20 yards of grassy lawn to the beach. Every stay is **Butler Elite** with **24-hour room service** and all the luxury inclusions Sandals is known for, and as a Butler Elite guest you can request the water-taxi transfer when you arrive.

Honest Review: Beachfront One-Bedroom Butler Villa Suite with Private Pool (BVJP)

Tell us about the BVJP villa itself.
Matt G: This room is pretty special. It’s 1,723 square feet, so it’s truly a villa, as big as a lot of houses. You’ve got a bedroom, a bathroom with a soaking tub and a shower, a living and sitting area, an eating area, a media room, and even a foosball table inside for when a tropical shower comes over, you dip in and play foosball and have some fun. And your own private pool with a table and a sitting area, all right on the beach. It feels really spacious yet intimate, with the beach and the ocean right outside your door. It’s all pretty doggone new, so it feels clean, and the furniture is modern, light, and airy.
What’s the private pool and patio like?
Matt G: It’s pretty large, actually, complete with lounge chairs, and there’s a soaking tub out there too. We used the pool quite a bit, and it’s spacious, we actually had four friends with us and we all fit in nicely, it’s not a little hot tub, it’s a big, nice pool. The view is the main draw, sunsets over the ocean, and you look out over a grassy lawn that runs about 20 yards down to the sand.
What’s the layout like inside?
Matt G: It’s a one-bedroom suite, so you’ve got a very large bedroom with a king-size bed that looks out over the private pool through large sliding glass doors, a bench at the end of the bed, and a big closet with a safe. The bathroom is large, which makes it easy for two people to get ready if you’re heading to a wedding or an event, with a shower and a soaking tub, plus that second soaking tub outdoors. Then there’s a sitting area you could call a media room, pretty large, with flat-screen TVs in both the bedroom and that area, an eating area, and the foosball space adjoining it. There’s landscaping between each villa, so it’s pretty private side to side unless you’re on an end where there are walkways. The private pool itself has a great view to the beach, perfect for sunsets, and yes, that means people can see you while you are in the pool. It’s private for your use, but not completely invisible.
Is Sandals St Vincent a private beach?
Matt G: The island is known for black sand, which gets hot, so Sandals created a beautiful white sand beach here, and you can snorkel right off it and see fish. It’s a cove beach, probably average size. As for the villa’s private pool, it’s private in that no one else uses it but you and anyone you invite, but because you have that open view of the beach from the pool, people walking on the beach can look toward the room. There’s a bit of distance between the beach and your pool, and the room has blinds you pull for complete privacy. When we were there I didn’t notice many people walking by, occasionally during an event, but normally most people take the walkways, so it’s not that common. All that said, this beach is usually quite private, but no, it is not 100% a private beach, there are days when visitors will come and enjoy a piece of the beach. Note that there were no non-Sandals visitors/staff during our stay on the beach.
How far away is Sandals St Vincent from the airport?
Matt G: The airport is about 45 minutes from Sandals Saint Vincent, and there are really two ways to get there. One is the transfer provided to all guests. The other, if you’re a Butler Elite guest like you are in this room, is to request a water-taxi transfer that only takes about 20-30 minutes, you just have to request it in advance, which we can do for you. As for where St. Vincent is, it’s in the Eastern Caribbean, south of St. Lucia and north of Grenada, the main island of St. Vincent plus a chain of 32 smaller islands called the Grenadines. It’s lush, vibrant, and undisturbed, in fact, some of the Pirates of the Caribbean scenes were filmed in the area.
What is there to do at Sandals St Vincent?
Matt G: You can take a catamaran tour, go island-hopping through the Grenadines, we went to Bequia and wandered a beautiful empty beach with a little pop-up bar, and there’s Mustique too. You can hike the rainforest, survey the crater atop the volcano, La Soufriere, explore ancient petroglyphs, and dive Anchor Reef to see the unique black coral found nowhere else. There’s also Montreal Gardens and Fort Charlotte. On the resort there’s volleyball, bocce ball, croquet, table tennis, sailing, paddleboards, Hobie Cats with lessons, occasional water skiing, scuba diving, kayaking, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and Snuba, gorgeous pools for swimming, go bike riding or you can just chill under a palm tree. And the overwater wedding chapel is beautiful, glass in all the right places for the sunset, its own dock out to it, and very popular, so if you want to get married there, book it well in advance.
What’s the dining like at Sandals Saint Vincent?
Matt G: Sandals did something different here and brought in local cuisine, Buccan was one of our favorite restaurants, family-style with long tables outside, an open-air kitchen, and bowls made from local lava rock, very authentic, and your table is seated together with other diners so you meet new people. Another favorite was Parisol, a simple open-air spot overlooking the half-moon beachfront pool, a great place for a beer, some seafood, or a chilled glass of wine with a view to remember. There are 11 restaurants in all, including an Italian beach grill, seafood, a steak shack, a pizzeria, Crema for ice cream, Blum for coffee in the morning with Jamaican Blue Mountain, Imora Green Bowls, and Butch’s Chophouse for steak and seafood, which your butler may need to reserve. And there are at least 9 bars across the resort.
How do you get the most out of the butler?
Matt G: Use them to your advantage, it’s one thing to get room service, but the real value is the extras. The 300-foot linear pool runs down the middle of the resort and is dramatic, but the lower pool that looks over the beach and ocean has chairs in high demand, so have your butler save you a pair, leave you a cooler full of your favorite drinks, and just tell whoever’s on shift the night before so they can set it up. The butlers have always been wonderful at every Sandals we’ve been to.
What’s the entertainment like?
Matt G: There’s a regular schedule and it’s genuinely good, the Big Drum Party on Mondays, Vincy Sun on Tuesdays, Movies Under the Stars on Wednesdays, the Island Vibes Plaza Party and a Carnival Celebration on Thursdays, a Late Night and Candlelight Concert on Fridays, and the Rhythm Lounge on Saturdays. The music is really good, no two ways about it.
How much does it cost to stay at Sandals St Vincent?
Matt G: This room, the beachfront one-bedroom butler villa with a private pool, is one of the top rooms at the resort, and it’s been averaging around $1,535 per person per night over the next several months, depending on your dates. There’s also a beachfront butler villa suite with a private pool that doesn’t have the separate one-bedroom layout, so it runs a bit less, and the overwater villas at the top. Is Sandals St Vincent worth it?
Matt G: There are four very similar villa types and these private pool villas were one of our favorite rooms we’ve ever stayed in, and something we’d do again. Let us know if you would like to review the differences between them and we are happy to help you out. The resort sits on 50 acres with 321 rooms, an amazing mountain backdrop, and that 300-foot linear pool running right down to the ocean with a fountain at the end, it’s gorgeous. St. Vincent is known for very low crime, it’s at the top of the US State Department advisory list with the best rating, and when you walk out to the beach, get in the water, and turn around, it reminds me of Hawaii without the crowds. It’s definitely a place we’d go back to. I think it’s worth it for sure.
